The Regenerative Medicine Initiative Germany has been established to act as a cross-sectional, multidisciplinary network within a broad spectrum of biological material research concerning stem cell biology. This research ranges from molecular imaging to tissue engineering and includes clinical medicine in Germany. Besides the centers in Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden and Hannover which are supported by the BMBF and the DFG, many Federal States developed networks, centers, clusters and other factors of Regenerative Medicine Initiative Germany.
These organizations came together in Leipzig on October 17, 2007 in order to found a national initiative that will be known as Regenerative Medicine Initiative Germany.
Aims of this initiative are the following:

The initiative mainly presents a coordination and communication platform that is open to all professionals and representatives of the affiliated organizations. The five supported centers are committed to carrying out this initiative and securing their work:
